August puts you in full control of your recommendation workflow: decide what to ignore (and why), get alerted before commitments expire on your own terms, and explore resource tags directly in Stable.
Here is what's new in Stable.
1. Ignore Rules
Not every recommendation is actionable right now, and some may never be relevant to your organization. Ignore Rules let you formally exclude resources from your cost recommendations view, so your team can focus on the savings that matter.
Three rule types to match your intent:
Tags — Match resources by their AWS tags (e.g.
env: prod,Team: research). Tag rules can optionally be scoped to specific accounts.Resources — Target specific resource IDs directly when you know exactly which ones to exclude.
Recommendations — Blanket-ignore an entire recommendation category across all resources. Use this when a particular type of recommendation simply isn't relevant to your organization.
Optional expiry date: Set a "Until" date so the rule expires automatically — useful during migrations, seasonal workloads, or while waiting for a contract renewal. Once expired, affected resources return to "Affected" status.
Reason field: Every rule includes a description so your team always knows why something was excluded.
Live preview before confirming: The creation form shows how many resources and how much yearly savings will be affected before you save.
Stats view: See at a glance what each rule is hiding and how much potential savings it holds back — nothing disappears silently.
Visibility preserved: Ignored resources remain accessible under a dedicated "Ignored" tab with a direct link to the rule that covers them. They continue to appear normally in the Resource Explorer.
2. Commitment Expiry Reminders
Savings Plans and Reserved Instances shouldn't catch you off guard. You now choose exactly when you're warned before a commitment expires.
Flexible lead times: Pick 30 days, 7 days, 1 day before expiry
Per-user preferences: Each team member configures their own reminder schedule, so FinOps leads and engineers get notified on their own terms.
3. Tags in the Resource Explorer
The Resource Explorer now surfaces AWS tags as a first-class dimension, making it easier to understand and act on your inventory.
Tags column: A dedicated column displays tags directly in the resource table — no need to open each resource individually.
Tags tab per resource: Drill into any resource to see its full set of tags in a dedicated tab.
Tag filter: Filter the entire resource table by tag key or value to isolate specific workloads, teams, or environments.
