June 2026 release

June brings the filtering capability our users have been asking for: you can now slice any of Stable's main tables down to exactly what matters to you, save those configurations, and share them with your team. We've also added eight new cost recommendations spanning CloudTrail, CloudFront, DynamoDB, OpenSearch, Transfer Family, WAF, and EBS.

Here is what's new in Stable.

1. Advanced Filters

Every main table in Stable — Cost Optimisation, Cost Optimisation Resources, Commitment, and Resources — now supports Advanced Filters. Instead of scrolling through hundreds of rows, you can build precise, multi-condition views in seconds.

  • Filter on any column: Every field available in a table is filterable — numeric thresholds, text values, multi-select categories, dates, booleans, and tags. Build conditions like "Easy wins above $1,000/year" or "all EC2 recommendations in us-east-1" without leaving the view.

  • Filter by tag — including untagged resources: Tag-based filtering is a first-class option. You can filter resources that carry a specific tag, or use the dedicated No Tag filter to surface everything that falls outside your tagging policy.

  • Save and name your filter presets: Recurring workflows no longer need to be rebuilt each session. Owners and Managers can save named filter configurations and share them across the organisation — so a FinOps lead can distribute a standard view to the entire team.

  • Share filters via URL: Any active filter set is reflected in the page URL. Copy and paste the link to share your exact view with a colleague instantly, without requiring them to recreate it.

Each table manages its own saved presets independently, so a preset built on Cost Optimisation stays there and does not appear on the Commitment table.

2. Eight New Cost Recommendations

Stable's recommendation engine now covers eight additional scenarios, adding new coverage across CloudTrail, CloudFront, DynamoDB, OpenSearch, Transfer Family, WAF, and EBS.

  • Stop duplicating CloudTrail logs to CloudWatch Logs (Easy): Sending CloudTrail events to CloudWatch Logs is useful for alerting, but keeping the full log stream replicated indefinitely adds cost without additional value. Stable flags accounts where this duplication can be safely reviewed.

  • Enable automatic compression on CloudFront distributions (Easy): Compressing objects at the edge reduces data transfer volume and can lower both CloudFront costs and origin load with a single configuration change.

  • Purchase CloudFront Security Savings Bundle (Commitment): For distributions with consistent traffic, the CloudFront Security Savings Bundle combines a usage commitment with WAF and Shield Advanced coverage at a lower blended rate than On-Demand pricing.

  • Purchase DynamoDB Reserved Capacity (Commitment): DynamoDB tables running provisioned capacity at steady-state usage can benefit from Reserved Capacity, which offers a significant discount over On-Demand rates for a one- or three-year commitment.

  • Migrate OpenSearch storage from gp2 to gp3 (Easy): gp3 EBS volumes deliver higher baseline performance at a lower price per GB than gp2. OpenSearch domains still on gp2 can migrate with no downtime and typically see immediate cost savings.

  • Delete idle AWS Transfer Family servers (Easy): Transfer Family servers with no active connections or file transfer activity over the last 30 days are flagged for review. Idle servers continue to accrue hourly charges regardless of usage.

  • Change WAF ACL Logging Destination to S3 (Easy): Sending WAF ACL logs to CloudWatch Logs is significantly more expensive than logging directly to S3. For teams that do not need real-time log queries, switching destinations can reduce logging costs substantially.

  • Delete idle EBS volumes (Medium): EBS volumes attached to running EC2 instances but showing very low I/O activity over the last 30 days are surfaced for review.
