July introduces powerful multi-tenant management capabilities, self-service CloudFormation stack updates, and two new cost recommendations targeting VPC Flow Logs and ECS.
Here is what's new in Stable.
1. Tenant Management
Stable now gives Managers full control over their tenant, removing the need to contact support for user and account operations.
Invite and manage users: Managers can invite new users, assign roles, and revoke access, all without requiring intervention from Stable's team.
Restrict user access by AWS account: For organisations with multiple AWS accounts, Managers can now scope a user's visibility to specific accounts. This ensures each team member only sees the cost data and recommendations relevant to them.
2. Self-Service CloudFormation Stack Update
Administrators can now update their Stable CloudFormation stack directly from Stable whenever a new version is released.
One-click update notification: When a new stack version is available, a banner appears in the menu with a direct link to initiate the update.
Guided update flow: The update wizard walks administrators through the process, highlighting what has changed and confirming the parameters before applying.
3. New Cost Recommendations
Stable's recommendation engine now covers two additional scenarios, adding new coverage for VPC and ECS.
Deliver VPC Flow Logs to S3 instead of CloudWatch Logs (Easy): Sending VPC Flow Logs to CloudWatch Logs is significantly more expensive than delivering them directly to S3. For teams that do not require real-time log queries, switching the destination can reduce logging costs substantially while retaining full auditability.
Modernize ECS Task Definitions (Easy): Outdated ECS task definitions that reference deprecated parameters, legacy networking modes, or unoptimised resource configurations are flagged for review. Modernising these definitions can reduce compute waste and align workloads with current best practices.
