This month, we focused heavily on two areas: high-value database optimizations and User Experience (UX) improvements that make your daily workflows seamless.
Here is what’s new in Stable.
1. Major Database & Storage Savings
Databases often represent the largest chunk of a cloud bill. In this update, we have released powerful new recommendation engines targeting specific waste in RDS, Aurora, and DynamoDB.
RDS Aurora Optimization: We now identify opportunities to upgrade Aurora Storage from Standard to IO-Optimized and help you migrate Aurora Serverless clusters to provisioned instances where steady usage makes it cheaper.
DynamoDB Cleanup: We’ve added granular checks to identify unused Global Secondary Indexes (GSIs). You can now delete these unused artifacts to stop paying for storage and replication you aren't using. We also detect when it's cheaper to switch tables between Standard and Infrequent Access (IA) storage classes.
EFS Hygiene: We now flag Idle Elastic File Systems that haven't been touched, allowing you to delete them and stop the drip of unnecessary costs.
2. Modernizing Search Workloads
OpenSearch is powerful, but it can be expensive if left on default settings. We have introduced targeted recommendations to modernize your search infrastructure:
Instance Modernization: We identify older generation instances that should be upgraded to newer, more efficient types.
Volume Optimization: We now recommend migrating OpenSearch volumes from GP2 to GP3, giving you better performance control at a lower price point.
3. A Faster, Smarter Interface
We want you to spend less time hunting for data and more time making decisions.
Global Search (Cmd+K): You can now navigate the entire platform using your keyboard. Simply hit
Cmd + K(orCtrl + K) to instantly jump to specific resources, views, or settings.Sticky Filters: We’ve improved our filtering logic. Now, when you filter by Region or "First Seen On" dates, those filters stick with you as you navigate between different screens, saving you from repetitive clicking.
AWS Marketplace Integration: We have streamlined the procurement process with full AWS Marketplace integration, making it easier to manage your subscription directly through your AWS bill.
4. Accuracy & Reliability
As always, we have been working under the hood to eliminate false positives and ensure the numbers you see are the numbers you pay.
Sharper Logic: We’ve resolved edge cases regarding QuickSight idle users and OpenSearch Reserved Instances to ensure every alert you receive is actionable.
Cost Precision: We investigated and fixed discrepancies in CloudFront and RDS cost calculations, ensuring your dashboard matches your AWS invoices down to the cent.
gp3 Awareness: We updated our EBS recommendations to respect the latest AWS gp3 throughput limits.
